Did my part: Haven’t mowed in three months. Went even further and haven’t mowed for the entire time I lived in a second level apartment 😉
The beauty of unmaintenanced gardens is underrated.
We mow 2x a year, at best.
Ik begin al te niezen en snotteren van deze foto te zien…
Any reason to support my lazyness I take.
I personally just changed large parts of my garden into wild flower patches with a couple of walk ways in grass between them. Not only May has pollinators in my garden but the entire summer through. It’s kinda nice, changed my gasoline mower into a hand pushed one too to entirely minimize the ecological impact of maintaining my garden. I have an electrical string trimmer too to do the edges now and then or to clear out the flower remains at the end of summer when the flowers are gone.
Honestly, there’s a beauty to these flowers and slightly taller grass. The grass perk in front of my apartment building is also not being mowed right now and it looks much better to have these spots of white and yellow instead of the green monotones.
Hero! 😄
We do some mowing because otherwise the clover does not bloom because it gets no light. We noticed that with mowing we have so much more clover flowers and many more bees.
We do leave some borders though that are unmowed. There, the dandilion goes wild
I am joining in.
No I am not lazy.
Same here with a crapload of inheemse wilde planten and struiken and bomen. Nice to read some appreciative posts on this subject.
Nature and biodiversity need our support.
The ticks love it!
I did not knew this was a thing, but I am happy to see they let the grass grow out, looks more real
It’s a 50/50 in my garden. Mowed around the hyacinths (yes, I’ve got a miniature Hallerbos in my garden), and will probably keep that up as those patches of unmowed garden are absolutely bristling with life. Might add some seeds for summer flowers to it as well.
I take out all the ‘paardenbloemen’ though, they tend to destroy everything else here and they’re pretty ugly once done. In your case they seem to be able to not kill the other plants fortunately.

Doing the same. Large part (1/3th) of my garden is mowed only twice a year, rest max once every 3-4 weeks.
Neighbours give me stink eye because ‘azoeveil onkroidj menneken!’, but all the birds are fouraging on my lawn and not in their green desert, wonder why that is.
My entire garden is overrun by these puffballs. The entire neighborhood in fact.
June: fuck you bees, *mows every flower*
I love it. Have been doing it this way for some years now. Keep at it!
Little bit of gardening advice from my dad; Mow only when it gets long (if at all), and never ever mow underneath the trees.
Gekken !!!
r/fucklawns moment, and I’m here for it
I mow twice a year; Once early june and once in september. Trying to get more wildflower in my lawn.
My neighbour gives me the side-eye every once in a while. But I just brush him off with:
Please don’t mind the weeds. I’m just feeding the bees.

Me as a nature lover 😍😍
Me as an extreme case of hayfever 🤮🤧😴🤯😭
And before you say: take some pills.
They tend to soften the symptoms, but doesn’t cure them.
I did the ecological experiment last year. Result: garden full of thistles. 😐
Zalig, bijna hetzelfde als mijn tuin. juist dat ik wat meer kale plekken heb onder de bomen.
Here I am with a little artificial grass lawn that apparently is the perfect breeding ground for moss.
