> The Guild has in the past few minutes issued guidance to members and a statement to the press outlining the situation with UK writers and expressing solidarity with the WGA. WGGB members have already been told that they will be removed from the Guild if they take on work within a WGA jurisdiction during the strike.
Pretty amazing solidarity!
How long until the studios start using ChatGPT to plug the gap of writers striking?
I can just see it now, the lowest paid staff feeding ChatGPT prompts to lay out the overall framework they then tweak it a bit to add nuance.
Any idea what shows will be hit by this? It is late night talk shows in the US, but I suspect different types of shows will be affected here.
if there was ever an argument for UBI and making it illegal to evict people from their homes for not being able to pay rent or bills (if they have UBI that should be enough to cover rent and bills ). Either we are citizens with the right to live here or we are slaves with no real rights to live here.
It’s kinda funny watching all these so called talented talk show hosts suddenly have nothing to say now that no one is writing their lines for them.
Remember when we foolishly thought technological progress would automate the menial depressing work so we’d have more time for creative endeavours instead of making the upper class richer?
Seems like all we ever do is automate creative work so poor people have more time to be exploited by menial jobs to keep the upper class ever richer
