I got this bottle at Værnes airport in Trondheim. I was told that Løiten is a local brand. Is there a reason why “Rio de Janeiro” is written on top of the logo? I googled if there were any Gran prix of aquavit in Rio de Janeiro in 1923 but i couldn’t find anything.

Looks like a centennial celebration of sorts, the bottle doesn’t usually look like that. I bet it’s what it looked like 100 years ago.
I doesn’t say what kind of medal, could be for best paint thinner at a farmer’s market in 1923.

Saying Løiten aquavit is from Trøndelag is offensive for us from Hedmark!
Why it says Rio de Janeiro? Probably because that’s where the ships the casks the aquavit matured on sailed. Since it has has to cross the equator to be a linie aquavit.
It won a contest in 1923….
Reading helps!
If you read left to right you should manage to work it out
It also says Paris, Bergen, London, Skien and Liverpool. It says it won medals in contests in those cities

Løiten Linie aquavit is famous for bringing their bottles(or barrels?) past equator, so a real baptist by Neptun sailor can drink real spirits
In Rio de Janeiro there was an International Exposition: Exposição do Centenário do Brasil (1922-1923 : Rio de Janeiro, RJ).

Probably at this international exposition were given some prizes…
