I recieved a mail to pick up my blue card last week and will be going tomorrow to pick it up. [I meanwhile got sent this](https://imgur.com/a/Hccqg3k). It says they posted something and it could not be delivered to me. Which is strange as I’ve been at home all these days. Regardless, I’m not sure what it is that I’m supposed to have recieved and the translation sounds vague yet scary. Is anyone familiar with what this is about and what one must do to rectify it? Thanks a lot in advance.

  1. They say that several times mail couldn’t be delivered to you and was returned.

They are checking if the entry in the registry is right (or if you moved away without deregistering/registering in another town).

There should be a response form you have to send back within one week. Not doing so could lead to them checking further (i could. Imagine by sending some police officers to check for you) and eventually you would be deregistered by them.

You absolutely should respond on the respond form.

  2. Looks like they’re assuming that you’ve moved from your registered address without notifying/updating about the new one.
However that would mean that some of their mail was returned to them marked “not living under this address”. Did you move? Is it possible that your mail ends up in the wrong mailbox?
Even if the letters got lost or you didn’t reply, you’d get a specific reminder depending on the content. If a letter was to ge hand delivered as registered mail, you’d have found a note.
Anyway, this is urgent. There should be an attachment to complete and return asap. A process has been started that needs to be stopped.
They do have the right address (you’ve received the warning letter), but it may be possible that other mail was sent to a different address (it’s common among German Expats in Shanghai, China that they receive some official mail from Germany addressed to “Shanghai, Usbekistan” – happened to me and many other Germans I know there).
