F30y.
So got in my 30’s and I’m alone in Luxembourg. Where do people go to meetup this days? I’m looking for friends not a love relationship.
I’m already on meetup app but seems very quiet.
Any other suggestions?

EDIT: there’s now a WhatsApp group. Join us but open with chrome otherwise seems not to work: https://chat.whatsapp.com/Ljmrs8lKtxvEscJDHxjg1g

  1. You may meet up many cool people at work! But they will luckily be all commuters from France and Belgium, therefore no social life anyways 🙃

  2. I met a few from work and then their friends from previous works and etc. Also some friends started to come here as well but still a work in process

  3. If work friends are not a possibility, the next best option is to join a club of the sport you already practice or you think you might enjoy. You have better chances to find like minded people there.
Slowly you’ll increase your circle of friends meeting new people that are friends of your friends

  4. I live in Belgium and faced with the same issue 😀 I guess it’s just an acute problem for current generation and society

  5. Do you live in a village or the city? A village is probaby easier, most villages have different fests over the summer months or there might be a café where you’ll always see the same locals. Once you have one friend the circle should grow quite quickly.

  6. You can try hanging out with our group which we are always looking to expand to see if the vibe matches. A lot of us met through meet-ups, We are a bunch of friends/acquaintances who try to go out every other week in the city. We cook food some days. Luxembourg is not the easiest city and have gone through it so can understand.

  7. Best way, would be through your hobbies. There are meetups or clubs for most of them. If you have any hhobby, you could ask on a post in the subreddit about events etc.

Or through events and festivals, i meet alot of new ppl there and they are often open and invite you to other places or events.

If you are a social drinker, at least in the south, you can go thursdays evenings to a coffee, as thats afterwork day, with lots of ppl to meet.

  8. What do you like to do? There are actually clubs for everything, painting, theatre, singing, board games, book discussions, sports of any kind, languages, just to name a few… just find what you like and join a Club/Meeting.

  9. When you say that you are looking for friends and not love relationship, my mind says you are pretty f*cked up

  10. Have you hear of the girl gone international Facebook group? it’s great so active there are almost weekly events , all ages. Highly recommend 😉
