I assume many here received this as well? Can this even be legal?

  1. Yallo one-sidedly decided to change the contract conditions due to the inflation. Is this legal at all? I mean, 1CHF more per month is not a big deal, but the HOW is what makes me angry.

We have a contract and both sides are legally bound to it right? They can’t just change it and get away with it?

What if I decide to change it on my end as well due to adapted income situation? Inflation hit me just as hard as it hit Yallo so I can also tell them I will reduce the monthly fee by 1CHF as I just can’t reach my budget otherwise.

    Damn this is f*cked up.

  2. It is since you get to cancel the contract. Also I think 1.- seems to be pretty ok considering that we pay 4.50 at Migros for a take away coffee without batting am eye. I’d have expected way worse tbh.

  3. Lots of phone providers have done this. I have a special offer with sunrise which promised a “lifetime fixed price” on my abo and they are raising the price on it. It already costs enough as it is and these rats go ahead and do this, while they probably aren’t raising anyone’s wages in a significant manner.

  4. I also use Yallo and haven’t received this.
Mabey contact Kassensturz, especially if you have the “life long” contract. Seems pretty scammy

  5. Ah yes, I have a ‘special’ contract and therefore got a ‘special’ price hike. They even announced it in a special e-mail for special customers. It’s only 0.9 CHF instead of 1.-, I feel so special.

  6. I absolutely love it that the Swiss are totally freaking out about this recent mobile phone plan price increase of 1-3 CHF/month.

  7. just switch to Galaxus Mobile:

It works as a MVNO of Sunrise as well and got recently rebranded, basically for CHF 19.00 / month you get:

    – Unlimited Internet with 5G connectivity in CH
    – Unlimited phone & SMS in CH
    – 1 GB data / month abroad

I guess it doesn’t get much cheaper than that in Switzerland.

  8. Hopefully we can be that angry again this fall, when will be the health insurance costs to rise up!

  9. Take a look on QoQa where there was so much fuss about a raise in lifetime Sunrise offer that they ended up reducing to 0,90chf and finally a 10 rappen decrease in price for most of the more recent subscribers – subsidised by QoQa not Sunrise. https://qblog.qoqa.ch/fr/posts/5269

  10. Lifetime usually means the lifetime of the product not the user. I’m sure somewhere in the conditions client approves of the change.

  11. Interesting that all the comments are about Yallo and Sunrise becouse they’re basically the same firm.

  12. They have to increase the prices for long standing customers, so they can afford to bait new ones, with free 1000.- flat-screen, 600.- gaming consoles and 2 year long 50% deals.

  13. You can now decide if you want to pay or cancel the contract. If you want to stick it to them cancel and find a cheaper contract with same condition with a rival. If you can’t find any it means they got you and know they were the cheapest. Or they will suffer loss of customers and have to adapt their strategy. Even if you don’t find cheaper, changing won’t look good in their stats so go ahead.

  14. Yes it is allowed. You have the right to get out of your mobile contract till the 1st of july. The other big providers already have this clause included, so it is only a matter of time that they will come along with it. You can also get an extension from 3 to 6 months, so you can avoid to pay the price difference till then
