Full hearing to take place on Friday.
Following a 52-day trial, ‘The Monk’ was last month cleared of murdering David Byrne at the Regency Hotel.

The guy might be the biggest scumbag on the planet but he was found not guilty. If the state doesn’t foot the bill for his legal fees it sets a precedent where they can potentially use the courts to financially ruin innocent people.
Legal aid is dealt with on a case by case basis, a defendants solicitor will hand in a ‘statement of means’ to a judge to show they need legal aid. It is VERY rarely denied, Hutch doesn’t deserve legal aid because he can afford to pay his legal fees.
Wait until you hear about the special criminal court, no jury trials and its awesome conviction rate
Why did the guards (and dpp) charge him with murder when they knew the evidence was flimsy and dowdalls evidence would never work
I’ve no time for Gerry Hutch or his gang of scrotes around the north inner city, but he was found not guilty. Fees should be paid.
This cluster fuck is on the state, who should have been sensible with their charges. And also not used a convicted torturer as their primary witness
Still sour over the Brinks mat
Set the precedent and it will come down on someone who doesn’t deserve it sooner or later
The state will object, make a balls of it and then give him even more money.
The people who work to prosecute criminals in Ireland are probably lovely people, but they’re useless at their jobs.
