  1. The List:

    Kirkwall, Scotland
    Newcastle, County Down
    Newry, County Down
    Enniskillen, County Fermanagh
    Pitlochry, Perthshire
    Ballycastle, County Antrim
    Glastonbury, Somerset
    Stamford, Lincolnshire
    Frome, Somerset
    Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire

  2. This list is almost exclusively made up of middle class white country small towns. I’m sure there’s no bias involved and all the nicest places in the eyes of the author just happen not to have any minorities.

  3. This just feels like sponsored article to promote Booking. com’s list of friendliest town. Is a town that only attracts 10 happy tourists more friendly than one that attracts 1,000 tourists including 500 unhappy ones?

  4. Towns? Full of British people born before 1985? Culture? Pubs? Theatre? Town bands? Low-crime? Community events?

It must be a Hot Fuzz situation /s. It’s alright, I’ve got your free ticket to Sudan and Albania waiting for you folks.
