The title makes it sound way worse than what he actually meant.
…I think he said “Fully integrate” instead of can not be swedes. Is it still bad? Maybe, but it turns into something wholy different when you say it like that.
Fundamentalist muslims cannot be swedes unless Sweden is a islamic nation.
We should make that possible to accomodate them.
Well, duh
>Jimmie Åkesson said he does not believe that you can be a “fully practicing Muslim” and at the same time a fully integrated Swede.
Can practicing jews be swedish? I was raised catholic, can i be fully swedish or am i too brainwashed by the pope?
In other news, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west
>”if you are a fundamentalist Muslim, [and] you also tend to have values that we do not associate with modern society.”

>”On the view of gender equality, how to raise children, the view of animals and such, it differs… it is difficult to be considered Swedish by other Swedes.”
Well, he is not wrong? A lot of Dutch people move to Sweden and most of them find out Swedes are pretty difficult to get accepted by as one of their own, and I’d argue there aren’t a lot of differences between Dutch and Swedish people. Muslims all over western Europe have trouble integrating into society, or getting accepted into it (which are two different things).
It is at least worth a normal discussion.
Or is this guy the Geert Wilders of Sweden?
What if a blue eyed, blond haired, R1b Y chromosome carrier native born Swede becomes a fully practising Muslim? Where they wear a veil and pray to Allah… Do they stop being Swedish?
Religion doesn’t make or break your nationality or identity
This is not a fundamentalist, just a fully practising Muslim, can’t a Muslim be Swedish?
They love Abba, they are in a neighbourhood with other swedes, they participate in society, but because they are religious of a religion Sweden has not had they stop being Swedish?
How is this remotely a controversial opinion?
I won’t go into a discussion regarding Muslims, but to add context:
The same party (SD) said a few years back that our indigenous people, the Sámi, also can’t be considered Swedish.
I’ll leave it there
The Swidish alt-righters continue to pander to their dimwitted voter base that loves to salivate over empty statements like these. Sweden – unlike Poland, for example, – has something something called rule of law (foreign concept to many here) and adheres to the international order. If a fundamentalist fullfills the requirements for a Swedish nationality, he or she will inevitably get it despite any rabid screechings from Mikhaila or any YouTube daddies to be found on Gab or here.
Dont listen to SD is my take as a swede they are kinda extremist right wing

Replace “Swede” with “democrat” and you have a valid statement for the whole European Union.
And while we are at it, replace “muslim” with “religious”:
> “…does not believe that you can be a fully integrated democrat “if you are a religious fundamentalist, [and] you also tend to have values that we do not associate with modern society.”
