What is this metal thing and does it work?

  1. It’s a collapsible wall to protect the urban area against flooding and ice drift. It has never been used. Even in the spring of 2006, when there was a real danger of flooding. Usually shelter for cats, rodents, snakes, lizards and all kinds of other creatures.

  2. Дигата, баце !
It’s a levee system. In case of high waters/flood alert each part is getting lifted up ( usually by a crane using the hooks on your left side ), there are pumps from bellow for the excess water.
Otherwise, when no high waters/flood alert and weather is ok, it’s the best place for partying out: from bicycle riding, through roller skating, running, walking to getting wasted, based on users’ preferences.
