Why they left out Stefan Batory and went to choose Sobieski instead? I have a working theory that they will never issue 1000 PLN, so they just chose Sobieski as the last good king of Poland.

Many people living here their whole lives never seen it. There aren’t that many of them and they are impractically big notes. For that price range people usually use cards nowedays.
In fact I believe most stores will flat out refuse to accept it because cashiers don’t have a clue if that’s what it’s supposed to look like

After living here for nearly 40 years I’m yet to find such a noble piece of paper.
After living in here for 13 years i have one of those on me
I was 22 years old when i first found it. I live here for 22 years
I never used cash in Poland since I moved here in 2019 😂 the main reason is that I hate coins. And the smallest denomination for a banknote is 10 zl. So I didn’t even try. Apple Pay for the win!
Still funny tho when I go to states that I have to use cash in some places 💀

Weird, I was there for the summer of ’15 and saw dozens of them.

So weird to see people are shocked to have the equivalent of 100 euros in on note in Poland when almost all other European country have the equivalent of 500 euros note and no one is shocked about it D:
