1. Cyprus offered free hotels (with food etc) to Ukrainians. Who would refuse a holiday destination with a large Ukr community, free hotels and food?

   But this program was not extended, so a lot of Ukrainians are leaving. Not many can afford to stay and rent for 1500/month, unless they are IT. So it is largely an outdated information.
