Hey guys, anyone in Switzerland needed to have their CPU replaced?
I built myself an editing/gaming PC using an AMD 7950X3D and ASUS X670E-A Gaming and thus was affected by the ASUS shennanigans and my CPU was damaged.
I already sent it in to Galaxus, as I was hoping it might be quicker and so that I did not have to deal with any customs fees from sending and receiving the CPU from out of Switzerland (example: had to pay more than CHF40 when warranty replacing an IceGiant Prosiphon Elite bought from Caseking, IceGiant were nice though and voluntarily reimbursed me).
Galaxus lists a two day turnaround time from AMD receiving the CPU to the customer getting it back:
https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s1/product/amd-ryzen-9-7950x3d-am5-420-ghz-16-core-prozessor-24107476
Now that they received my CPU and sent it on I received an email from Galaxus stating it might take 2-4 weeks for the replacement to arrive.
Anyone have any experience with the turnaround time for AMD CPU replacements in Switzerland (no matter whether directly or through any retailer)?
If it really takes this long I will have to order a new CPU and sell the replacement once it arrives, but that’s obviously going to lose me money. However, I need to work on customer’s photos…

Has anyone any experience with AMD CPU replacement times in Switzerland? Any help would be appreciated! I can be without a PC for a bit, but I need it for my photography business since I need to work on photos. However, I don’t fancy buying a new one just to have a replacement show up a couple days later, losing me a bunch of money.
Thanks!

Do you really need to ask the whole of Switzerland for such a trivial problem?
Setup sounds sick though
Where are CPU‘s made? All in China, which means you get a quick replacement if you are lucky else it might take some weeks/months
Maybe don’t get a self built P.C for this reason, swap takes longer.
2-4 weeks sounds ridiculous when they have the CPU in stock online. I wonder how much of that time is actually AMD sending the replacement and Galaxus processing it through their system and sending it to you. Sorry to hear your experience, I’m gonna keep in mind that dealing with the company directly for warranty and replacement issues may be the be the best way to go.
Shouldnt you be able to buy a new one from Digitec/Galaxus or another store and then send the one you get back from your replacement back in the original packaging without any significant lost money?
Contact helpline and explain that they will anyway send a new chip so you might as well get one from their stock. It might be worth talking to them directly
Will be faster than that, they just say that so you wont conplain when they would say it only takes a week but then takes 2 weeks
Can’t help you out but I’m thinking about building a similar setup. What was the problem with Asus components?
