Somebody broke part of my mirror and ran away. And got rejected in a car inspection because of “potential water damage to mirror blinkers” and the rejection code: Damaged blinkers! While the blinkers are perfectly fine and working. I had to pay 58 euro .Solution proposed: Fill the gap beautifully!

  1. Yes, you are responsible for keeping all functions of your car in good working order. Open electronics are obviously not acceptable. It’s not relevent they still happen to be working today. If the inspection only limited itself to things that were already broken, the state of the average car would be abysmall.

  2. How it happened is not relevant for the safety of your car.

Get it fixed properly (new mirror body). If you are a bit handy this is quickly done by salvaging the part from a scrap yard.
