For the arrival of French President Emmanuel Macron and 5 ministers in Dunkirk: 1500 police officers, drones were deployed and generators were installed in case of power outage. The city center is barricaded. He doesn’t seem to want to see the demonstrators against the pension reform. 12/05/2023

  1. I had a good opinion about him, but he seems to be a little boy who is afraid to confront the consequences of his actions. Pathetic.

  2. To be fair, depending on who is visiting this is also done in germany, they even sometine weld the manhole covers shut.

  3. Can you really blame the govt for doing this when it’s clear so many people are willing burn down their society because of a 2 year increase in retirement age and memes?

  4. There are many pathetic things here indeed.

Let’s start from the people not being able to protest without burning down cars, shops or other public properties, thus requiring huge security measure to cope with their in civility.

Let’s continue with people ridiculously comparing rightfully security precautions with “dictatorship”. You should really try what a real dictatorship is before posting this shit. Have a trip in Russia maybe. Don’t bother with the return ticket tho.

Last but not least, people who can’t understand that with the average life span increasing every year and the birth rate decreasing every year, retirement age HAVE to increase just to keep the situation as it is now. Not an opinion, just mathematic.

  5. My absolute shock when the president of a big nation requires security in public. Are we going to be outraged on this sub every time streets get shut down whenever an American presidents shows up for a visit?

Shinzo Abe was assassinated not even a year ago ffs

  6. I’m actually impressed that France is even prepared for such situations.

This is more like China / Russia stuff.

  7. Every time I see Macron’s actions I think that he has some kind off a short man complex.. but again Napoleon was short as well.
