Bit of drama llama about this article, the journal fucked up initially, claiming the statement was false since 300 houses were being sold every week, when Leo said that 400 people were buying their first house every week.
Now that other people did their fact checking for them and found that 400 first time buyer mortgages are being drawn down every week. So not only are 400 houses being being bought every week, it probably means that twice as many people as Leo initially claimed are buying their first house (first time buyers tend to be couples).
Even now their verdict description is still wrong and contradicts their verdict guidelines.
How many are buying their third one?
Journal’s Factcheck used to be decent pre-2020. It’s now all over the shop, and got really weird in the last year referencing and checking bizarre niche conspiracy theories from the depths of Twitter. They could have just gone with Twitter is a heap of drama and garbage but that would only get them a single article.
I think they include the recently homeless who are able to afford their first tent
Did they specify in Ireland ? if not then they’re technically correct.
Check mate.
Yes but some of them may have bought a home previously which was an unfortunate oversight that on mature reflection could possibly have been avoided and has lead to ways we can better facilitate
the formulation of a coherent strategy
designed to lead us into the future with confidence in our proven ability to communicate
on a meaningful level in an open and fair transparent society
With front line facilities, roads and utilities,
opening up new lines of enquiry about the possibility of em,.
Do Leo’s lips get more pouty the more fucking hot air he talks? He reminds me of a guy who plays a “hotshot lawyer” in certain 80s movies. The one who sits at the bar but wants to work on a case. Milkshake and a delicious looking burger that they only ever take one bite out. Going to a pub so he can concentrate on his work like. What a big doopty do shit stain.
