I’m hoping this means that a cold streak is coming…say June 13th – June 28th?
*Pertinaz sequía.
Tell me about it I’ve been walking up from Cadíz for about a month. Camino del end of the world
I’m not enjoying this pre-summer
Climate change? You gotta see the positive side. The worlds economics has been flourishing in the last 40 years. We had jobs and amazing growth of luxury for everybody, we can pick up the kids from school in a SUV and spend and go for weekend shopping tours around europe. Isn’t that great? Who does not like that? So much fun.
Because we did nothing to prevent (not even to slow down) the upcoming climate change that was first mentioned in the 80s. Because we did everything to grow the economy by all means, for decades turning a blind eye on the consequences that we are going to have to face *now*. Peoples brains are not equipped for long term perspectives (and neither are the economic models installed by those brains), only ready for instant pleasure cycles. Isn’t it amazing that there are still in position all those (sometimes very powerful) people questioning the reality of the climate change, so that they can go on with their business as usual? And isn’t concerning that they still are finding so many followers *wanting to believe* them? “Uhm, no this is just nature doing its cycles, nothing unusual and nothing to worry.” “We cannot do anything if all the others want follow.” And isn’t it even concerning that they are still finding so many followers *wanting to believe* them?
Now we have to face the upcoming bad bad consequences. Those droughts are only the beginning, and a lot todays wealth is going bye bye to paying for the patches needed to keep the machines & food production going. The immense costs of climate change is going to burden the societies with will reduce that economic power of every individual a lot, producing anger and frustration. Who is not afraid of how people are going to react to all the cuts that will be necessary?
What’s spain going to do when the tourism will dry out, because people cannot afford (or won’t like to) go on vaccations in the desert? Providing solar electricity to feed europes AIs? Not a lot workmanship is needed to do that.

Hello from Ireland, send us some sun and well trade you some rain eh?
Is this now in May? RIP August
Esto es normal, el clima fluctúa. Lo a echo siempre y lo seguirá haciendo.
The hottest days in 62 years… until now. It will be even hotter and dryer next year
I feel like every summer the past few years here have been “the hottest days since ___” 🙁 not looking forward to the heat again 😭
We feel you. God save us.
Literally Franco and Ayuso fault
In in Barcelona and it looks like it’s going to rain every day for the next week. It’s not even 20 degrees here right now.
How high of a temperature was recorded?
Yep we are in troubles
Meanwhile in Galicia…
We are fucked. Worst thing is that even though we know this is gonna be probably the worst summer until now, it’s gonna be the best of the ones we have ahead ☠️😵
Along 65 years there were probably some 5000 hotter days, if not more.
Someone claiming that Luxembourg, or Belize, or Qatar, or Singapore, are the largest countries in the entire world would only be lying by 150 units.
But hey, it’s the revolution! –the one Orwell warned us about in “1984”.
