From the car park I usually walk via the waterfall (so get the steep part out of the way first). Takes me about 5 hours to do the circuit, stopping for a packed lunch a couple of times. Great views, but can get a bit nippy in parts – bring a flask of tea!
The drive to Johnny Fox’s for food after is also very nice.
May I tack on to this thread? I am probably moving to Ireland soonish. I love to hike and also go for some mountainbike rides. I hear often, both is not really possible in Ireland because basically all land is privately owned and you would basically always be trespassing?? Please someone educate me 🙂

Hungry hill has some decent scrambling routes
Carrauntoohill in Kerry. Definitely one of the best mountains I’ve climbed.
Diamond Hill in Connemara has great views as well.
Croagh Patrick in Mayo.
Howth in Dublin has some lovely cliff walks,
The Mourne Mountains are absolutely spectacular and have dozens of trails.
