My uncle has gone missing. I’d like to circulate this far and wide and get it circulated via public groups e.g. GAA clubs etc. He could have travelled outside Dublin. We’re desperate to find him. Thanks so much for your help.

  1. If you haven’t already OP please post this in local Facebook groups. I’ve found two people who were missing before, keep calling them, try find his car if he brought it with him. Check the usual places he hangs out in. Check the Dublin Mountains too. If you have family members take the day off work and check all over Dublin and beyond. Split the family in two and one half go driving, the other ask Taxi driver, Bus drivers, Luas, Dart Drivers. Show them photographs of him or this poster. 🙂

Don’t worry OP, He’ll be found soon I hope. Best of luck to you and your family I’m sure your uncle is a wonderful crater and a character. Take care of yourselves! 💚

  2. I’m living near to that area. I’ve posted this image now to the local whatsapp group I’m in. Hopefully everyone in that group will do the same.

  3. Are there any spots he would go to for a regular walk or important places nearby from his past. Sometimes if people have trouble remembering something they’ll try get to familiar places.

  4. Maybe ask Dublin bus if they’ll hang a pic in the staff canteens/break rooms?

Wishing you and your family nothing but the best and hope you’ll find him asap. Thinking of ye!

  5. I don’t really have social media, but I’ll be out and about tomorrow so will keep an eye, best wishes and hopeful for you for a good outcome x

  8. I’m so sorry, I hope he turns out soon. Will be keeping an eye up for him. Are there any searches organized during the weekend? I’d be happy to join…

  9. Hi OP, reach out to homecare companies. They have care workers who travel around the country all day in and out of houses and are experienced in dealing with vulnerable elderly people. They can circulate the photo.

  10. I’ve seen it on a good few insta posts and whatsapp groups. Really hope he’s found OP. Hope you and your family are ok

  12. I’m so sorry for what you and your family are going through. I really hope he’s safe and that you find him soon 💕

  13. If he has dementia there is a great chance he is still in Dublin. Where did he grow up ? Check there . Any where he might remember from his youth ?

  14. Alright,

My grandfather would wander in the beginning stage of his dementia.

I found him in a few places.

McDonalds – Golden arches are familiar no matter where in his mind he was lost.

Parking lots – Looking for his car or keys or both.

Random houses – Sometimes he’d think he was dating someone who lived there or live there himself.

Tool shops – That MFer would think he had a job to do and needed the tools to do it.

Convenience shops – MFers be thirsty.

It probably wouldn’t hurt throwing a few pics out to the places he might be the most familiar with.

You can also check in with any hospitals, sometimes they’ll get in old boys who are confused.

I’d also throw his information out to any ambulance groups as they’d likely be the ones to notice a lad out and about.

It would also be a good plan to give his information to the Gardai for the future.

    I hope you find him

  15. Not sure if this would work, but contact his bank, explain the dire situation. Maybe if he is lost due to his age and confused they should be able to tell you his last atm/card transaction location. Worth a shot.
Hope he is located soon safe. Regards

  16. I’m down In cork and just shared to socials as I’ve a few people following me with a lot of followers across Ireland and the north. For all we know he could’ve hopped on a bus or train somewhere. I hope he turns up!
