I’ve been dating a Romanian for nearly 10 years (we live in Washington state), and desperately want to help her and her family. I don’t know where else to turn, so I thought I’d try here. I wasn’t entirely sure where to post this, so if it belongs elsewhere, my apologies in advance.
6 months ago, my girlfriend and her family’s life was turned upside down when her Mom had a massive stroke. My girlfriend, an only child, immediately became her full time caregiver as her Mom requires around the clock care. They do not want to put her in a care facility as they want to take care of her themselves. Her Mom’s sister came over from Romania back in January to help, but she’s returning home in July. They are now desperately looking for someone, preferably a Romanian, to be a live in caretaker.
The toll this has taken on my GF and her Dad is heartbreaking. Does anyone have any advice on how I might find help for them? I’ve made postings on [Care.com](https://Care.com) and Craigslist with no success. Are there any resources where I might be able to find a Romanian that might fit what they’re looking for?
I miss my girlfriend and the life we once had together. Thank you so much.

I think most of us în this sub are actually in Romania.
So moving abroad to work as a caregiver might be a bit complex. As far as I know we would need a Green card.
Maybe you would have better luck with looking on Facebook for Romanian groups în your area.
Speaking of which, why are you looking for a Romanian caregiver specifically?
Does your future mother-in-law not speak English?

If the mother of your gf is alone or does not have close relatives (other childen) you’d better think that a facility with specialized personnel would be a better choice. It cost you something, but a caretaker may be cost you more and her medical knowledge are zero..
