There’s no accusation of wrongdoing. No evidence of wrongdoing (yet). Where’s the crookedness?
The real question is how much the charity paid for it.
If he was a co-owner of the nursing home and a director of the charity and it was sold to the charity, he would have at the very least had to declare his interest in it to the other board members.
Interesting that the ditch thinks this warrants investigation over….hmm.. let’s say for example SF election expenses or how MLM afforded her mansion.
Comments are split between FF/FG apologists and Paddy Cosgrave fans.
I’ll split the difference…. They’re *all* cunts
I’m sure there’s a tax implication here somewhere that he could get certain exemption because it’s a charity , no ?
I think this is the problem Micheal Martin was on about when he was giving out about them. Once they’ve lured the anti-government people in with a few easy stories about planning, they’ll start pushing more and more anti-government rhetoric through these types of half-stories that aren’t actually wrongdoing at all.
And people that already sang their praises will continue to ignore any red flags about the website because “they put Niall Collins in his place”. And then the Ditch will start pushing their own biases onto those people, feeding their own personal agenda. And you essentially have a mini newspaper funded by a guy with an anti-government agenda that is happy to stoke up resentment and anger just to spite the government.
The FG bandits are in.
Paddy Cosgrave is getting more hatred than SF these days and it’s fucking hilarious.
They just love corruption and arrogance, but only when it’s done by themselves.
For all we know he could have sold it for a nominal €1 because this article doesnt actually even attempt to point out what the alleged corruption here is?
Yes, he probably should declare his interest in the deal betwen both parties, but again – there’s nothing here yet to suggest he didn’t actually do that.
If information comes out to fill us in on these actually important details, then yes perhaps there’s a case.
But without this info – this is just an article that’s written implying corruption because ‘The Ditch published it’ but there’s literally nothing, absolutely nothing to fill us in on where the alleged corruption is.

Another day another article of nothing

Man who hasn’t been a public representative for c. 9 years sells a property he co-owns, more at 11.
There’s not even an accusation of wrong doing. It’s just The Ditch peddling something so people can RT it and murmur about “FFG.”
And Paddy tweets.
Here’s why FFG are attacking independent journalists in Ireland: Because they’re exposing FFG as a crooked cabal. Keep it up @wereontheditch
