Population lowering is a sign of high development. Why would young people settle and make babies when they are free to do so many cool things and even see the world?
Also, in your young years you can fast track your career and experiment, helping you offer the future family a better lifestyle.
This should be a good thing for the planet, but the money people won’t be happy.
The entire world’s population is projected to fall starting somewhere in the 2030s. The only growth area remaining being Africa. Asia is already in deep trouble keeping up their social systems due to low birth rates, and Europe will soon follow/
Well old people dying is the natural way of things. Nothing inherently bad here. That young people are feeling that this is a world where they do not want to raise their children well.. i get that.
However I’m very positive as quality over quantity anyday! Who says there needs to x amount of people.. only capitalist perpetual growth system is the one that needs more and more
AI is coming for vast number of jobs including those thought to be safe like teaching so less people is ok.
There is only one solution to this problem and it is to legalise child labour! #makeChildrenProfitableAgain
If the population keeps falling maybe real estate prices will follow
The young generation is simply paying for the older (babyboom) generation that wants to hold on their wealth, their money, their health, their property, their whole way of life. The boomers never had to give up anything and only saw their wealth grow. Which is fine on the short term but catastrophic on the long term. They live alone (or with two) in houses that were once made to grow families. We had one mayor crisis after the other for the last 15 years, we’re on the brink of war and economic collapse, there is poison, drugs and plastic in our food and let’s be honest we’re facing an irreversable enviromental crisis. But I guess a boomer in an electric SUV for only doing some groceries can fix that. Also also Europe’s bureaucracy is killing everybody’s vibe. People want to grow their child in a safe enviroment and this European future seems grim.
As far as houses keep being not accesible for young people it does not matter how much you want people to have children.
No estabilty during your 20’s/30’s means no babies.
Im a meantime amount of lonely people grows
Will or can Socialism fix this?
Time to think of a system that is sustaniable without destroying Europe with inmigrantion. Or at least make a filter that allow people that will make the Europe grow. And not create a burden or societies that don’t want to adapt.
Latino Americans, that are European decendant are quite good as they almost have the same cultures. Tho yeah, a filter should be there, so the story do not repeat itself and bring whoever that want to enters.
