  1. So sad with the current state of Turkey. I think Ataturk is turning in his grave 24/7 with what has Erdogan done to the country.

  2. Ataturk was just another fascist Turkish ruler. Don’t try to whitewash all the awful things he has done by posting some selective quotes.

  3. Atatürk wouldn’t show his side in such matters. “I have no religion” is a tough one. He would have said it in a different way instead. Like “the book supposed to have descended from the sky” (Qur’an).

  4. As far as I know the military in Turkey has the duty to preserve the secular state – legacy from Ataturk. Has the military intervened in same way (given that Erdogan’s Turkey has became more religious and conservative) or just that the military is pro-Erdogan in some way and doesn’t want to overthrow him? Or maybe I’m wrong…🤔

  5. Funny enough, Jósef Piłsudski, the founder of modern Poland was also very secular and against the imposition of religion on the state. In fact, he became a Protestant for some time in order to get a divorce and then returned to the Catholic church to get married again.

Tbh, religion is only important in Poland now because of communism. It was the one organized unit that united Poles against the regime (plus Vatican Bank, Polish Pope, etc.)

  6. Are you are trying to convince Europe users that you are not Muslim and despite last night disaster, you are also such west with this post? 😀

Forget it. Turks are only European at coasts in Aegean and Mediterrenean. Anatolian nation are nationalistic and religious. This is the truth, accept and take actions in politics. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is dead, unfortunately and Anatolians were not willing to fight until British took the bite, closed the parliament in Istanbul and cruel actions by Greek army.

What was Anatolian Turks saying to Kemalists first? “Balkan g**sies get out of Anatolia!”

  7. Didn’t he literally use assimilation and conversion campaigns to enforce a “turkish” culture upon the minorities? Such as the alevites and pontos Greeks
