fish killed by river pollution in Ennistymon

  1. Locals have spent years asking the council and Irish water to stop this and the same “we’ll look I to it” reply gets given. This is appalling

  2. Pity the Green Party aren’t in power to sort it out. Oh, wait. Maybe they could install a bicycle lane for the fish to get past the polution

  3. That’s Heart breaking, My Mother is from Ennistymon and when I was young we would visit every couple of weeks to see my Grandmother, Uncles, Aunts and Cousins. My Father and I would always go off for a couple of hours of fishing often down to the river I was even planning and going there myself soon for a bit of fishing and nostalgia.

  4. It doesn’t make a difference if it’s farmers, industries or fly tippers polluting rivers and lakes because nothing will ever be done about it.

  5. I live near there and after a heavy downpour of rain you can just see slurry coating the sides of the cascades and the river. Same with Lahinch beach- human sewage is everywhere.

  6. Raw sewage pours into that river everytime there is a lot of rain. Also on a spring tide at Lahinch with a lot of rain the treatment plant there overflows too. The river flows right into Liscannor bay.

Don’t swim in Lahinch when there has been a lot of rain. It’s awful.

  7. this is what the greens should be concentrating on, instead of trying to get people onto public transport that doesnt exist.
