Well whatever your opinion of the Met, this is not a good outcome for anyone.
Can’t say I am too surprised.
Firstly, it’s a pretty crap job now where there is too much demand.
Secondly…. The recruitment requirements are bonkers. Some of the maths questions are…. To a silly level.
Probably not due to lack of applicants but they now have to reject more of them due to higher standards (e.g. not allowed to recruit rapists anymore).
Interesting… imagine painting an organisation as institutionally racisit, homophobic and sexist for years… but they try to recruit from an area where there is a huge distrust of the police force and a complete lack of willingness of the local community to integrate…
Surely this is pay rather than reputation. If it was reputation wouldn’t more police forces fail to recruit? But at least in those areas a job in the police could mean you afford rent near work which isn’t the case in london
Here is proof they have been quoting 20,000 extra officers for years, when the opposite is true.
