Many people knew about the contamination, but it was nobody’s competence to communicate about it.
So they all saw there was a severe public health risk, but all went “Meh! Not my consern.”? They never had informal talks about this problem? Never considered that somebody should be doing something about this?
So they all, collectively, decided to keep an omerta over this problem. And nobody dared to risk it’s neck, because they would be going to the general consensus of their peers.
Now that it got out in the open, all the umbrella’s go open. “Not my fault! Not my job!”. And they hope their head will not be placed on the shopping block.
Somebody will have to take the blame. And that person will more then likely be Joke. Doesn’t matter much as her national political career is dead anyway. So they offered one to keep the simple mob quiet. And all the others that had the knowledge and could and should have done something about it will get off free.
But what about agalef??!! They gave an unspecified amound of subsidies to 3M almost 20 years ago so they are exclusivly to blame. Just like they are responsible for not investing in energy production for all those years!
Our opinions are obviously colored by our political preferences but I don’t like beiing a tool, you shouldn’t either.
When your politicians are actively hiding the fact that their decisions are a danger to your health. Things like this should end with people in jail.
This is gonna be a juicy on. I hope those responsible will feel it.

This is just borderline schuldig verzuim. Letting people eat their home grown vegetables while you know they are poisonous.
Vlaanderen moet dringend onafhankelijk worden. De PS zijn corrupte zakkenvullers. Wat we zelf doen, doen we beter.
I am trying so hard not to become cynical about politics, but it is really hard to read these things and to keep believing that the government is there for the people. I feel naive just writing that sentence.
We should stop pointing fingers…eventually someone will be the scapegoat and possibly nothing will happened. It is best to look forward to what can be done for the future than what’s been done in the past.
The video does adress the issues of the system; to name a few: no court for environmental issues, lack of personnel, lack of supervisors of the environmental investigators, corrupted investigators (I might be wrong on the latter, Dutch is not my mother tongue), no law enforcement, fines being too low and more profitable for the company to pay the fines than either solve the problem or move somewhere else. It is a good start to fix all these above.
It is quite shocking that people have 150 times PFOS in their blood higher than the maximum allowed limit (1100 vs 6.8 unit value)… and this substance cannot be removed from their body as far as I have understood… and makes you wonder where else some other similar situation is happening right now. As the video said, 30% of the chemical companies have not been inspected yet.
Meanwhile, each fucking day, we as citizens are asked to make more efforts to reduce our energy footprint. Isolate your house, buy electric car, pay your part, do this, do that. Icing on the cake, there are people who listen to that bullshit and vote for these clowns giving them more power.
When I see how these clowns can manipulate the people, I tell myself that any good speaker could join politics with absurd agenda and even then, there would be people voting for them.
Stop listening to these lobbied hypocrites. Ask them to lead by example. If they don’t do it, try to reconsider who you vote for.
I believe in climate change but I am starting to believe that nowadays it’s just a tool used to make us consume more so the machine called capitalism keeps living.

People having 150 the normal values of PFOS in their blood? Just grab a needle with that quantity and jab them with it. According to them it’s not unhealthy so no issues here normally.

It’s no coincidence that after all involving parties building Oosterweel have screamed at Lantis that the deadline was too short and budget too small that right after signing the contracts this news was brought out in public. Which in turns puts part of the project on hold, extends the budget and makes every one happy again.
