Did the Government have up to 7 Christmas parties while urging people to follow the rules?

  1. It’s gone from ‘absolutely no parties, but we socially distanced’ to 7 parties rather quickly. Well done, Captain Pissflap you utter failure.

  2. How do they have time to justify this many fucking parties?

My work place is too stingy to give us ONE unless its during the weekend.
Why the fuck are the government having multiple parties using our money?!

This seems completely absurd even during normal times

No, the odds are they had more and we’re just starting to find out about them.

  4. Wtf, I thought there was like one or two lol (which would be bad enough by itself). Should I bet they were also making fun of covid restrictions at these?

  5. If this is coming to light as a drip-feed dead cat distraction then I wonder what we are being distracted from?

  6. One of the more disturbing features of this story as it unfolds is that we’re seeing client media being used by anti-Boris elements of Government. This ionformation should have come out last year and we may have possibly seen a different management of covid. Whose to say this choice hasn’t cost lives?

  7. Almost as if the reason for the rules was total bollocks. 180,000 sounds bad, until you look at actual leading causes of death.

  8. We wasn’t allowed an Xmas party at work last year. Despite spending the entire 10 hour shift in the same building, We had to socially distance in the staff room with our mulled wine & mince pie at staggered times in groups of four, 3 in a corner each and the fourth standing out on the fire escape with the door wide open. We couldn’t choose who to go up with either.

And these fuckers might have had SEVEN parties?!?!?!

  9. This afternoon my employer decreed that all on-site Christmas gatherings are banned until further notice.

My divisional MD has negotiated all of us to get a gratis extra day’s leave, no strings attached, use it by the end of the fiscal year in April. We had a virtual party in 2020 and it’ll be the same this year.

  10. Yes, it probably did. Maybe more. Maybe a splinter group to more parties.

And it won’t materially change anything.

We will all be outraged for a bit, rant and rave on social media and the government will feel a small bit of pressure for another few days. Johnson will look a bit older and “face rebellion” but he will face the backbenchers down with “concessions”.

We will then gradually forget about it – not forgive it mind- Owen Jones and The Guardian will write a bit about it. The Labour Party and Lib Dem’s will “explore an alliance” but will send their candidates at the next elections.

Tories will still win and will have loads more crises in between

  11. Hypocrisy and tweaking their way through definition loopholes is the Tory way, whether it’s corruption or personal behaviour or “one rule for us”!

Crafty redefinitions of taking backhanders, bullying, “having a party” or repressive laws and invasions of personal freedoms – whatever. All cut from the same tawdry cloth, as indeed are the bunch of clowns supposedly acting as a government for the good of the nation.

  12. It’s like at school. If there’s someone you don’t want to turn up to the amazing party you’ve got planned, you just tell them a lie to keep them away.

The gvt knew they were telling us all lies, the whole thing is just a weird control mechanism and we’re all the people they don’t want at their parties, so they lied to us and kept us at home. Meanwhile, they were all laughing and mocking us for believing their lies. The exact same pattern has happened across the globe, the ruling elites have been doing everything they want, but they’ll tow the line for the TV cameras.

The sooner you realise that you’re just being lied to because you’re the kid that nobody wants at their party, the better.

  13. Can we please just rise up and forcibly eject these corrupt pigs from their positions.

They’re destroying this country and everyone is complacent..

  14. “We’re in this together” what bullshit

Boris, rees-mogg and the rest have shown utter contempt for the people. How are they still in power?

And I swear to god, if I hear “it’d been worse if Labour got in” 🤬🤬🤬
