Don’t think it can be more strongly stated how important it is to get the HPV vaccine
*stroking throat cancer… common..it was right there lol
No, fuck this, first they hike up the energy prices and I complained but ultimately did nothing, then they hiked up the food prices and I complained a little louder. I will not stand for where this is going! There’s only so much they can take away from me!!
You have to be under 25 to get the vaccine is that correct or can older people pay for it?
Didn’t Michael Douglas get throat cancer from eating out Catherine Zeta- Jones
>In the UK, 80 per cent of adults reported practising oral sex at some point in their lives, Dr Mehanna said.
Interesting to know that 20% is the baseline figure for people who are boring as fuck in the sack.
Also you’d think that the point of this article should really be encouraging people to take the HPV vaccine but instead it seems to be approaching this issue from an angle of trying to scare people into not having oral sex, which makes very little sense when they’re also acknowledging that the vast majority of people are already doing it.
You just know for a fact someone from the 20% wrote this…
People willingly lick buttholes after 4 hrs+ of sweaty dancing in nightclubs… Maybe try to encourage HPV vaccination, over warding people off of oral sex.
Vax the kids so they can suck dick… wait, let me try to rephrase that.
Can someone explain to me how a cock in the mouth equates to cancer?
This is what caused problems in Michael Douglas’s marriage! He got oral cancer and then (silly man) he told the whole world that it was due to oral sex!
Dont forget the hpv vaccine isn’t offered to everyone and was only recently it started being offered to boys.
Intended or not it was a homophobic policy that decided immunising one gender would provide herd immunity and now its being demonstrated that it didn’t work.
Epidemic – Laryngeal cancer is so rare in the UK that it doesn’t even have it’s own page on the Cancer Research UK Statistics website. Around 2,000 a year get it
In the USA the incidence level has decreased from 5.13 cases per 100,000 population per year in 1985 to 1.88 in 2020. An ‘Epidemic’ !
No. The lackluster HPV vaccination campaign and the horrendously discriminatory way it was and is rolled out is responsible for this.
HPV vaccination was rolled out ostensibly to protect against cervical cancer, but it should have been rolled out with the advice it could protect against (at least):
* Cervical cancer
* Head and neck cancer
* Penile cancer
* Vulval cancer
* Anal cancer
But no, we couldn’t do that because we’re so bloody scared of the gutter press and their “morals”. Morals that they espouse knowing full well that they do not keep themselves.
Instead it’s clearly far more moral to have people die of preventable cancer and suffer preventable diseases because they somehow deserve it for having sex.
It’s even worse when you realise that for a number of years we used an inferior vaccine that didn’t protect against genital warts because again the extra cost wasn’t worth it – despite the absolute misery that these cause.
Those on the JCVI who made these decisions should be absolutely and utterly ashamed of themselves. The way this was done and continues to be done has caused significant harm.
Been completely free of cancer risks since getting married.
>Medical experts have pegged…
I thought we were talking about oral here, but ok.
Every damn time that there is a headline about something (that I don’t do) causing a rise in cancer I feel this ridiculous beat of relief mixed with smugness.
Then I have to remind my lizard brain that I am a fucking *smoker*.
Isn’t this issue easily overcome by the HPV vaccine though?
A lot of cases currently are because of the near criminal failure of our government to vaccinate boys against HPV until recent years. I’m only in my mid 20s, and my father paid for me to get vaccinated privately against HPV, because when I was at school only girls were vaccinated. (He himself had a long battle with throat cancer which he beat).
Thankfully boys are now being vaccinated too.
When men refuse to give oral it’s seen acceptable (more than vice versa) but there’s an uproar when women don’t give it?
It’s a click bait headline, it’s not oral sex that is causing cancer.
It’s HPV; a virus that is most commonly transferred through sexual contact. It’s also the same virus that causes abnormal cancerous cell growth in the cervix.
Infecting a woman can potentially cause cancer whether that’s the throat or cervix.
As someone who’s had a partner diagnosed with HPV what is the most shocking part of medical care is they don’t test men for HPV as it doesn’t effect them.
A virus that can potentially have life changing consequences for women is not screened for when men get an STD test.
Don’t believe the lies, this is a classic example of Big Handjob spreading lies to further their cause
Lol what are they doing man? They can’t just take away my things like that, hope my girl is not reading these stupid bullshit articles, that’s just what I don’t want.
Well this is my area of expertise! I’m a Head and Neck Clinical Nurse Specialist, and it is true HPV is fast becoming one of the leading causes of H&N cancer, we’ve made significant strides in reducing smoking, unfortunately for my generation we just missed out on the HPV vaccine but for the next generation they should expect to have a better handle on these numbers.
It is worth pointing out that there are numerous ‘strains’ of HPV and not all of these are high risk. It’s also important to note that even if you do have a high risk HPV, most people won’t get cancer.
For those who do get HPV induced oropharyngeal cancer typically the survival rate is almost double that of what we would expect for those who have cancers caused by heavy smoking and drinking.
If you do have HPV, please do not smoke or chew tobacco as we know you are significantly more likely to develop head and neck cancer than non smokers.
Also know the signs and symptoms and don’t ignore things that appear suspicious.
Symptoms:
Sore in the mouth that won’t heal,
Sore throat,
Lumps or patches in the mouth,
Trouble swallowing,
Changes in voice,
Lump in the neck
Nothing serious to me at least, I am continuing the work.
Hope my people will understand this type of clickbait thing.
It’s about the virus HPV and nothing more than that, it’s not all related to some oral sex thing, people should see this as a normal thing at least for now man lol.
Bless these stupid people god, they are going crazy now.
Yeah but still I am glad that I am going to do it anyway, this sounds like a new thing, they are just discovering anything and they pretend like this is something serious lol.
What kinda things are they researching these days? lol.
Nah mate, I haven’t even started getting heads, please stop.
I guess Wendy is going to be unhappy with this thing here.
Stop doing clickbaits like this at least, this is about different virus.
