Hei Norge,
I am sending my CV to several companies located elusively in Norway. I am curious if the standard EU CV template works well in Norway, or are there special considerations when applying for a job in Norway. The reason I ask. I applied for a position at Siemens once, the identical job, but one was in Germany, and the required a passport like photo of me, and the same job in Denmark, did not need a photo, and seemed a bit upset I included one. The USA version was even more confusing as the flat out rejected a CV if it contained a photo of the applicant.

I have looked through several job posting sites, like [Finn.no](https://Finn.no), LinkedIn and a couple other. None of them have a consensus, so I thought to ask the helpful community of Norwegians here, at /Norway.

I don’t know about the standard eu template, but here you just send the application and the CV by email. No photo!
It would be up to you, or depending on the type of job. I would never put a picture in a CV, and most people I know wouldn’t. If you’re one of the best candidates, they’ll see you at the interview. Maybe look up information on this based on the job you’re applying to. Good luck!
Standard EU CV in PDF should work fine, dont include a photo unless asked. Many companies will want you to type in your CV in their websites so it is easily searchable, in my experience, so the CV is simply a base for that.
Im not Norwegian, but I think the reason an application with a picture will get rejected / frowned uppon is because they are afraid that if they reject you, you could argue its because of racial related reasons, and not your qualifications. Which is, (atleast in the Netherlands, and probably in Norway) illegal. So to prevent any lawsuits, they reject everyone with a picture, problem solved!

They’re hiding here?
It was not normal with pictures in CV’s in Norway before, but my experience it that is more normal now, I use it.
But it’s not required, and also not a problem if you do.
Just make sure it looks professional if you use it 🙂
No need for a passport photo!
