Car crashes into cyclist who was legally on the bike lane. Takes off and does a hit and run.
HLN: “bike crashes into car”
I know it’s ragebait but still
/u/suckmybike pls stay calm!
________
Article summary: Driver was riding with his car on the R4, wanted to take the exit but hit a cyclist (who had the right of way). One of the side windows broke and the cyclist was injured. A while later the driver stopped, called his parents, and his parents then ended up calling the police. When asked why he continued driving he said that he didn’t see the cyclist and didn’t want to hold up the busy traffic. He claims he was confused by the accident. He got off with a 1400 euro fine, driving ban of 1 month and needs to do his practical exam again.
That’s an unusually high amount of consequences… I wonder what exactly happened that the police actually did something about it.
I guess it’s written in the article, but it seems it’s paywalled.
That’s one of the most dangerous exits of the R4 for cyclists. Shit like this happens every other month.
One month without a license. What a punishment.
Surprised no one started whininh about Voka in this thread yet. Y’all okay?
Very stupid idea to give a bike right of way.
Often hard to see in traffic (and those ebikes are even worse) whilest they see the cars pretty good, but since they have right of way they expect the cars to automaticly see them and poof there you have it. This accident could have easlily be avoided if they changed the “drakentanden”
