It’s Finnair becoming a budget airline now. I will fly with KLM from now on 🙋♂️
They are trying to become Wizzair, etc cheap company without the cheap prices.
As a shareholder, I’m not liking this direction because I’d rather fly Wizzair…
They need to be competitive with low-cost airlines, especially since they can no longer access Russian airspace. Say goodbye to your blueberry juice.
They seemed to be pretty lenient with luggage. But the change in the cheaper tickets to a small bag to fit under the seat doesn’t work for me. It’s not even the size itself, but if they enforce it being under the seat, where will my legs and feet go?
Basically they made a product (cheaper ticket without luggage) that caused more hazzle than it gave benefit. Now they have to try to take it back while not taking it back.
Also additional sales.
Monopoly
Never using Finnair again. it’s been overpriced for years already but this was the final straw.
It’s sad. They’re trying to cut corners wherever they can.. no actual savings, at least none to overcome the damage they’re causing to the brand. Pricewise it is not a budget airline, but service is another thing.
No carry-ons at Finnair, only a purse sized pouch may be carred on. Everything else will cost and must be placed in the hold.
There are many examples for monopoly companies in Finland. It’s disgusting how companies squeeze the people out. And yeah, the Fins just accept it and stay calm and polite
S Group, K Group, Finnair, … fuck them
Sorry – I am getting super annoyed as everything here is getting so expensive, but unions are proud of 3,5 Salary increases … 🤦♂️
Finnair was nothing special except being based in Helsinki. I have Silver level and their credit card. Now seriously thinking if this is a worth deal or not…
Strict luggage rules, still quite expensive prices, a good portion of the flight staff doesn’t even speak Finnish…
And the worst? Flying across Europe doesn’t even get you complimentary coffee anymore. Costs three euros??
Makes me sad since I’ve been enjoying flying Finnair until recently and I used to be kind of proud about flying the national carrier whenever possible.
Finnair ‘business lounge’ is an absolute disgrace. It’s simply a joke.
I have to move away from Finland because of this. It’s simply too expensive for me to visit my family… In Europe.
Most changes come from customers. Not that they ask for it, but lots of passengers just need a cheap ticket, and go from one plane to another.
Passengers are more and more used to self service. Buying tickets online, self check-in and so on. After using low-cost airlines for few times, that model catches up on customers. “Why pay for things I don’t need?”
Sure thing – but there are places in Europe where unions (for highly skilled/payed) are actually helpful.
I don’t understand the point in being covered by one in Finland. But maybe that’s just me and what I am used to from where I come from (which is not Estonia)
For me this is a good ruling. Just put your bags to the cargo.
