The last thing this country needs is to be more like the US in that way. One of the few things we have consistently gotten right here is tough gun law.
The mask is off regarding the racism too, some of this sounds exactly like far right ethnostate stuff, specifically the “Faith, flag and family” bullshit.
Scary times.

That’s not how learning from history works.
Germans weren’t some aliens with a genetic defect in their nationalism, they were the same kind of humans Britons. Nationalism is not inherently bad, I quite enjoy the quabble in Eurovision for example or when people identify with the good their country does currently.
However, British nationalism is not immune to become fascism. And it’s the role of the people to keep in a healthy meassure. Your nationalism can absolutely run away and become toxic and harmful and where you feel like all other countries in the world are inferior and need to be ruled by you. That everybody that doesn’t like your nation, or even aspects of your nation must be silenced or killed.
