The specific song is Salome, but goes for pretty much every one of his songs. I need to know how he tuned his guitar. From [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H52MFpZmtYc&t=110s) of him playing live in 1969 he plays the song starting in Am, but when played in Am in standard EAGDBE tuning it sounds a lot lower than the recording. I’ve been trying to figure this out, but I’m pretty shoddy at playing by ear so if any of you musically inclined could be of help, I’d greatly appreciate it.

To me it sounds like E standard, I think it might be the quality of the recording.
His guitar is tuned in D tuning **D-G-C-F-A-D**
