Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev claims Baltic countries belong to Russia

  1. Well according to the Russian apologists, we have to let Russia have whatever it wants because… we are afraid of Russia.

  2. What i don’t understand with the Russian leadership. Russia is already the largest country in the world. Stretching From the borders of Norway and Finland, plus if you include their Baltic enclave, Lithuania and Poland to the short border with North Korea. Plus islands just a few kilometers off the Japanese northern coastline. They have so much land, much is uninhibited. Plus huge islands in the Artic sea. Why more land? Getting a bit greedy. If the Germans don’t want the northern portion of Prussia back( Kaliningrad oblast) give it to the Austrians. Then they have a coastline for the first time since 1918😜

  3. I don’t think anyone takes this drunken lunatic seriously anymore. Even as president, he meant nothing lol

  4. Russia is an enemy of democratic countries. It’s time to start supplying Ukraine with serious weapons so that the Russian army can return home and isolate itself

  5. Estonia belongs to Estonia

    Latvia belongs to Latvia

    Lithuania belongs to Lithuania

    Ukraine belongs to Ukraine

    Georgia belongs to Georgia

    Chechnya belongs to Chechnya

    Moldova belongs to Moldova

    Belarus belongs to Belarus

    Kazakstan belongs to Kazakstan

    Mongolia belongs to Mongolia

    Kaliningrad belongs to Europe.

Just some of the basic truths ruzzians disagree with.

  6. So how many times does Medvedev have to bait western media until they stop giving him any attention? Just ban the “Medvedev claims” title from /r/Europe already, this guy’s literal job is to generate provocative warlike claims so that people get angry and even more xenophobic towards Russia. As the Western perception of Russia changes from somewhat positive/neutral to negative, as the russians start to be seen as lesser humans – the more Russian population gets united around their current oligarchic, capitalist government.

  7. He’s just trying to please Putin by talking like this, so he doesn’t come off as the liberal one which could lead to him “jumping” of the 12th floor.

  8. >In response to Macron’s comments, Medvedev wrote: “A geopolitical loss?”
    >
    >”Now, all of the NATO member states go to bed at night, and wake up in the morning thinking of Russia. Moreover, some of the especially cowardly and suffering from phantom pains, like temporarily occupied Poland and our Baltic provinces, have well soiled themselves.”

If your goal was getting a lot of countries to be upset with Russia, then, well, I cannot argue against that point. I wouldn’t call that a gain, but it’s certainly something that the invasion resulted in.

But I think that there is an underlying insinuation that it has made Russia more *influential*, that now more weight is given to the Kremlin’s wants. And that I do not agree with. I would say that this war has considerably reduced Russia’s global influence.

  9. And Baltic countries say Russia belongs to Moldova. Phew, I thought it would be harder to conquer Russia but it seems all you have to do is say it and it turns true.

  10. Atatürk used to say ”A country belongs to no overlord, monarch or imperial group but to its people”

Somebody missed the memo of 20th century, let alone 21st
