Trans Starbucks Worker Fired Over Viral Argument With Customer Speaks Out

  1. In other words spouting the greatest work of fiction since vows of fidelity were included in the French marriage service. Luna needs to be careful because if evidence surfaces contrary to what she’s said in this article, it constitutes defamation.

  2. For some vague context there was an argument between the customer and the staff member.

A third party decided to film the argument from outside the store and the staff member then went over to try and stop the filming by grabbing / slapping the phone out of the individuals hands

  3. So Luna (the employee) clapped her hands in a customers face, smacked a phone out of the hands of another, physically removed one of them from the store by dragging them by their bag, and then slammed the door shut so hard the glass cracked – all this in her own words from the article.

But doesn’t understand why she was fired without a meeting.

I mean… if she was being harassed I can as a human understand all of that. But I wouldn’t expect to keep my job.

She probably could have walked out of the store and gone home and taken the day off and reported it to HR and faced no punishment at all if she reported she was harassed.

  4. This just looks like an asshole that tried to play the minority card, clapping in someones face and slapping a phone out of someone hand is just a dick move, doesn’t matter what gender you are.

  5. > She told VICE News she is being treated as a criminal despite being the victim of transphobia

She attacked an uninvolved customer. She literally is a criminal jesus christ.

  6. At the point she says to the customer “you’re being transphobic, you called me a man“ surely if the customer had been throwing the awful word “trannies” around they would have used that as the primary example. Something doesnt add up. Also, there was no excuse to assault the person filming either.

  7. Trans Starbucks worker fired over viral argument with customer ~~speaks out~~ keeps digging.

I don’t know what happened before the video, but getting physical with multiple customers and causing damage to the workplace is a pretty quick way to get sacked.

  8. Yeah sorry. Your response is what got you fired, you chose to react like that.

If it was just a belligerent customer with zero transphobia involved, you still don’t act like that

  9. Serious victim mentality with extreme entitlement

Literally assault multiple people while on the job and still doesn’t think she’s in the wrong.

I have no doubt these things will continue to cause issues in her life that she will continue to say aren’t her fault

Edit ; and after rewatching the video, somethings not lining up. Apparently she tried to give her a refund, but the video clearly shows the customer refusing to leave because she wasn’t given s refund

So how much of the story is actually true? Will we ever find out?

  10. I sympathise if the customer was being transphobic, they have every right to refuse service in that case, but there were definitely better ways of handling the situation, and the quickest way to get rid of the customer would have been to just give her her money back surely?

The worker is claiming here that she asked the customer to come to the till and get a refund, but that doesn’t at all line up with the video where the customer is threatening to call the police and refusing to leave the premises precisely because she’s being told that she’s *not* getting a refund.

  11. Even if you feel the assault is deserved, you shouldn’t expect to keep your job over it.

Also, I don’t know why vice kept using the term “Right wing media”. Do they want me to discount anything they report just because they are right leaning?

  12. God forbid a member of a minority mildly overreact after getting called a slur to her face.

Clearly justifies publishing her home address, weeks of “EVIL TRANS PERSON DOES BAD THING” articles in the media directly targeting her and threats of violence from the guy filming. /s
