Has anyone tried bringing this in a carry-on? Direct international flight to the US

  1. The tube needs to go into the clear liquids bag through security and has to have a capacity under 3.4 ounces/100 milliliters.

  2. First time i brought one to the US, i got to keep it, got asked a few questons though.
Second time they took it away, so…50/50 rate for me so far.

  3. They took my Makrell i tomat and Leverpostei because they considered it “liquid”.
Pissed me off, but hey, what can you gjøre med it.

  4. This is not good enough to get in trouble for, and by the law it’s considered a liquid and not allowed.
There’s fish in the US if I remember correctly? 😀

  5. Norway to California; 12 hour flight. I always put this and brown cheese in my checked bags and have never had any issues.

  6. I think it depends on the security officers on duty that day… I once accidentally left some moisturizer in my purse, and it got picked up by security…but they let me keep it because they figured it wasn’t a big deal.

Admittedly, never been to the US 😛 I don’t recall exactly where this happened but I’m 99% certain it was somewhere in Europe.

  7. Can never forgive tsa schiphol for confiscating my jars of bringebær jam and herring. i just bought them in duty free when leaving Oslo!!!

  8. Not to destroy your gifts value, but I am pretty sure they sell “kaviar” in your local IKEA…
Allso, bringing any food in to the US can get you a huge fine…

  9. I haven’t, but I have seen two asian women at the security checkpoint eating kaviar straight from the tube because they weren’t allowed to bring it on. Go for check-in.
