What’s up with these street numbers? Elevation? Number of sidewalk nails in the country?

  1. Usually a line pass there… gas, watter something or a geometre had mark that to be a point of reference to something like a building… but usually the first one

  2. They are control points for surveying. The number is the stored point in their data file that contains that pin’s location and elevation.

  3. These are markers for topgraühical surveillance. You may have seen already such crews with a tripod and equipment with gps and laser to determine any changes in the landscape and in case of work needed on infrastructure where these are located.
