Coming from Thailand, this is weird because our energy cost in thailand just went through the damn roof.
I also want a nuclear power plant my country but I can never trust my own country enough to manage it.

Well, Thailand is probably better of with solar panels. How much is btw “through the roof” price for electricity there?
Producing more than is consumed is not only wasteful and costs the producer, it will cripple the energy system. The goal is to keep it stable. Thailand should have much cheaper and greener energy than Finland just based on its natural resources and location.
Imagine being against nuclear power
Suffering from success.
This applies to oil production too. You need to produce just enough to keep the prices relatively stable. If you produce too much, the prices will fall. If you don’t produce enough, the whole society falls.
It’s throttled mostly because in Lapland they have to run water power at maximum because of melting waters. Also, current power consumption in May with warmer weather is much lower than the yearly peak during colder winter months.
In this nordic climate there will alsays be oversupply of power at summer and high demand in winter as there has to be anough planta to produce enough power for coldest winter months. Of course power can be imported from other countries, but they also need lots of power at winter.
When they built this plant there where big headlines that we will export all the excess to Europe.

I’m on search to renew my energy contract, is there a site to keep track on what’s current offer/price in Finland?
