Wouldn’t expect anything less to come out of the NatC conference to be honest.
The fk would I have children for?
The next century is going to an absolute dumpster fire.
Incoming – forced birth initiatives from the right-wing nat cons.

we want you to have kids, but we’ll be damned if we’re going to support you in anyway to have them. And if they end up malfunctioned and unfit for life, it’s your own fault
Are we being governed by actual medically certified idiots?…. who votes for these people?
you only have to look at the USA, to see the “worst case” on what could happen next.
“worst case” aside, I bet they dont any of these things

1. Create more flexibility in employment for parents
2. raise wages
3. bring down the cost the housing
4. bring down the cost of child care
5. Do anything at all, that makes adults both able to afford having a child, and make them feel those kids wont grow up in either a climate change nightmare, of a capitalist nightmare.
Remove cap on child benefit then, stop depressing wages, pay public sector workers, bring back and actually fund housing targets, bring in minimum sized homes to stop couples getting stuck in the bottom rung of rip off property “ladder”.
The more secure people are the more likely they will have kids/more kids.
Oh, so they want to force (white, I guess) women to have kids and drive them into poverty rather than make it easier for people to choose to have them. I guess then they can have another segment of society to demonise, so win win.
So “excessive education” is making people, particularly women, re-think parenthood?
Of course, gotta keep ’em dumb and preferably knocked up early.
Mary Atwood was writing a warning not a “how to guide”
Their actions suggest otherwise. Just look at the state of schools now and the lack of support people get for having children. Along with how expensive it is to raise them and how little we earn.
Did this Tory MP vote against the government on their measures such as limiting child benefit to two children?
Did this Tory MP do anything to fight the government policies designed to make housing even more expensive?
Has this Tory MP thought of any ideas to make it easier for people who can’t afford to have children to do so, such as making sure that both mothers and fathers are given a lot more fully paid parental leave?
Or is this just a racist thing as the references to “cultural Marxism” imply?
Oh god. They’re going to ban contraception aren’t they. Cos they’re definitely not going to do anything about the causes of the low birth rate, namely high housing costs and low wages.
Edit: Yes, let’s recognise the actual problems and then skim right on past them and blame…*cultural marxism?* Come the f on.
Just waiting for them to come up with some bs like the modern woke ideology of transgenderism is against biological women and things like abortion, contraception and sterilization are mutilation of biological womanhood and therefore an attack on women
And that 30% of pregnancies in the UK end in abortion and we cannot get rid of immigration until Brits are having more children blah blah blah
People will eat it up I fear.
Are they aware the planet has a population crisis? There’s no Earth 2 once this one is used up
I’d love a kid but the cost of one for a single adult with a full time job in this country is becoming less and less feasible.
These people cut child benefit, made housing unaffordable, lumbered young people with mountains of debt, and now they complain about low birthrates?
Wow.
The National Conservatives?
It’s a bit long, they could use it shortening. Maybe something like… Natcies.
How can you expect people to have kids when they can’t afford them? Just how out of touch are these rich cunts?
Not housing? Not energy costs? Not inflation? Not the climate? Not the quality of our rivers and seas being destroyed? Not the potential for significant numbers of jobs to be replaced by technology developments? Are they absolutely insane?
After 30 years of rocketing house prices and rents, 15 years of economic stagnation and slashing public services, saddling young people with a working life of student debt repayment and the prospect of further economic pain and environmental armageddon I really can’t understand why people of child bearing age aren’t popping them out on the reg 🤔
Try making the country less shitty to live in and maybe people will want more kids.
Hahaha is it really? Then why have the two parties Labour and the Conservatives both spent the last 25 years creating an economic environment which has caused two generations to be stuck living with their parents into their mid to late thirties, or at most able to afford a bedroom in a house share. How the hell is anyone supposed to have children under those conditions, let alone even lead a fulfilling adult life???
Fighting (non-existant) “cultural” Marxism, promoting ignorance by reducing education, promoting procreation. It’s interesting she also appears to advocate less childcare? I wonder if Ms Cates MP will be recommending the creation of an “Engish Mother’s Cross?” I have heard that this has been used successfully in other countries in the past.
My word, more than one swivel eyed loon in this conference.
I am literally considering moving to the other side of the world because childcare is so fucking expensive in the UK. I don’t know how anyone affords children over here.
We uum-ed and aah-ed due to normal things. It’s risky for a woman, it’s painful, it’s tying ourselves to a person for the rest of our lives, it’s expensive, it’s scary, the world is generally not great. We had a miscarriage and it was sad but we picked ourselves up and had another discussion and opted to try again.
We have had our son and he’s lovely, no regrets and everything went as well as it could so far. But having another? No way will it be as good a fit as our first and juggling that with all the other stuff is far too risky to even consider it. It’s not like you go from “let’s have a baby” to 9 months later holding your little bundle of joy.
And that’s me as someone who wanted kids and wondered if I had missed my chance.
The Government aren’t doing a single thing to encourage people, we’re a two salary country now and they aren’t going to do anything to change that. More likely it’ll be a government campaign supporting polygyny where the third person can be the stay at home parent. Then in 50 years it’ll be “add a fourth person to your household” when the first 3 need to work to support the household.
Anything to avoid helping people survive.
Man I wonder why people aren’t having children, it’s such a fucking mystery, I guess no one will ever really know.
Sure isn’t because the country is in an economic tailspin after 12 years of the corruptest, most incompetent administration since the Battle Of The Medway and you’d have to be fucking bonkers to have a kid right now.
This planet doesn’t need 7 or 8 billion idiots. Human race can be content with just 1% of what the population is today. The real reason is an economic system that’s been built by psychopaths and narcissists and is nothing more than a ponzi scheme. That’s why we always need growth in economics
Nope. I won’t be giving this shithole country another human it can abuse and steal from to enrich the fucking scum sitting on the top.
“We need wage slaves to service our homes and businesses of the future.”
*Tories and their voters*
>“Having a home, a secure job and support from your family, community and nation are not the only conditions to starting a family,”
“Let’s mention some of the reasons for a low birthrate in this country, and then casually ignore them”
>“When culture, schools and universities openly teach that our country is racist, our heroes are villains, humanity is killing the Earth, you are what you desire, diversity is theology, boundaries are tyranny and self-restraint is oppression, is it any wonder that mental health conditions, self-harm and suicide, and epidemic levels of anxiety and confusion characterise the emerging generation?”
Your poor mental health isn’t because you cannot afford to live, or that there’s so few opportunities remaining to help yourself. No, it’s because you’re being tricked into thinking in a way that’s against our agenda
>“Spending so much time and money on education also makes it much more difficult, particularly for women, to decide when is a good time to pause and have children.”
Miriam Cates, a woman, is saying that women are burdened by an education
>Asked whether Rishi Sunak agreed with this latter concern, Downing Street appeared to say this was the case, referring to recent concerns Cates had raised with the prime minister over sex education in schools.
“We’re going to increase the birthrate by not teaching anyone about safe sex”
>liberal individualism has proved to be completely powerless to resist a *cultural Marxism* that is systematically destroying our children’s souls.”
>After Cates spoke, Yoram Hazony, the Israeli-US thinktanker behind the NatCon organisation, told the event that the UK was plagued with woke “neo-Marxist” agitators who want to detach Britons from their entire past, and called for a return to mandatory military service.
Oh… I guess it’s not antisemitic if it’s a Jewish person saying it…? Is that how it works?
>He reiterated his condemnation of Sunak for breaking a promise to repeal any EU-origin laws by the end of this year, while also urging people to support the prime minister “because the alternative is far worse”
We, the Conservative Party, will break our promises and do nothing to help you or your family. In fact, we’ll actually make things worse for you over time. But the alternative is the chaos of Ed Milliband eating a sandwich. You don’t want that, do you?
1. Get an education
2. Get a job
3. Buy a house
4. Have children
I think step 3 maybe what’s causing the low birth rate.
Miriam Cates is a Western woman of breeding age.
From a socially/racially conservative perspective, should she not (assuming she is married to a Western man) be trying to have more children quickly as an inspiration to others?
The problem with a lot of these folk is that they’re “all mouth, no trousers”, if you get what I mean
I’m sorry it’s the TOP priority for this country?
Not climate change, stagnating wages, inflation, labour shortages, economic growth, the pension crisis, corruption, AI, the housing crisis?
Let the rich have big families they can afford it, they can produce tomorrow’s 0 hour contract workers
I’m not making myself broke, to produce workers for tomorrow’s billionaires.
> Cultural Marxism’ and excessive education among factors causing existential threat, says Miriam Cates
Wtf is excessive education? People are too informed lol? And “cultural Marxism” is to blame? Not the years of her party’s social and economic destruction making it unviable for the majority of normal working people to be able to financially support themselves? These people are all deranged ideologists.
The “mothers should stay at home” bit is always odd as it’s never accompanied by “jobs should pay twice as much”.
“… excessive education among factors causing existential threat”
Classic Tories.
“We are running low on serfs so we will need you plebs to crank out some more sprogs for the workhouses.”
The Tories really are flushing the nation down the toilet.
She said some pretty fucked up stuff about women, the problem of educated women and ‘the devaluing of motherhood’, which I found more of a concern. She was less about economic realities and more about the Kinde Küche Kirche shit.
Life has been complete shit. Genuinely, I wish I was never conceived, I’m 29 now and I’m being generous if I say 20% of it has been enjoyable. And that 15% was mostly in the first 18 years, after that it’s been 5% good spread out over the last 11. I’ll be 30 soon, it only gets worse from here.
Why in fucks name would I want to do this to someone else?
