So for anyone who has bought “Takis” in Kronan or Bonus, you gotta know you are not getting the real deal. What is sold in Kronan and Bonus is made in Spain and has basically no heat, it’s an impostor, it’s the one on the left. The real Takis are on the right and boy let me tell you it’s the true heat that grabs you and gets your tongue addicted to the spice, they are only available at Heilsuval and are imported from Mexico.

If you want to try the real deal and handle the heat don’t buy the impostor.

  1. They are obviously different bags even though they are the same “product”, this is not uncommon.
Króna and Bónus are importing from different suppliers.

  2. I went to Mexico for the first time a couple years ago, and one thing that stuck out to me were the Doritos. They were cheaper for one, but also they were absolutely coated in seasoning. Like the one that you might find in the bag that is completely covered in seasoning, but the entire bag was like this.

  3. The Mexican/American ones are so vastly superior that it was a rude awakening when I first bought the European ones in Krónan..

The Mexican grocery store “Blóm í Eggi” (on 2nd floor in the Bolholt building that has Reykavik Foto in it) also has the real deal.

  4. Mexican here…I usually bring one or two bags whenever I visit… I’m sorry, your chips don’t really taste as good 😛
