Suella Braverman rails against ‘experts and elites’ in partisan speech

  1. I’d say pot, meet kettle but that might give someone the impression that Braverman has expertise in anything other than being a massive Tory cunt.

  2. So, as a member of His Majesties Government, Braverman is neither an expert or an elite?

These NatCs are talking dangerous populism.

  3. The elites have far too much control over the country! That’s why I support salt of the earth working class types, like Boris and Elon. And especially that Jacob Mogg, he’s someone that really gets us, unlike those Islington liberal elites with their Marks and Spencer’s deluxe quiche.

(This is how people actually think)

  4. tories truly have gone full fash. Suella braverman is literally praising fucking white supremacists. Does she know shes not white herself

  5. It’s hardly surprising that she’s aligning with org’s like the Claremont Institute. Braverman is the perfect type of grifter to suck on a Kochtopus tentacle.

  6. Man, this The Left sounds really frightening. I hope they don’t come along and spoil the 13 years of uninterrupted joy, unity, equality and success that we have been enjoying as a country so far.

  7. Trotting out the classics, been a while since I’ve heard the “had enough of experts” line.

Love a bit of wilfull ignorance. Good stuff. I’d say they’re a shower of muppets, but I actually like the muppets and wouldn’t wanna tarnish Jim Henson.

  8. Trying to lump experts and elites in the same group is more devious proper gander from this devious C**t

  9. >“I think the left can only sell its vision for the future by making people feel terrible about our past. White people do not exist in a special state of sin or collective guilt. Nobody should be blamed for things that happened before they were born. The defining feature of this country’s relationship with slavery is not that we practised it, but that we led the way in abolishing it.”

    >Attacking identity politics, Braverman said it was “the politics of grievance and division – it is illiberal and incompatible with social cohesion.”

99% of Bravermann’s drivel is the usual frothing at the mouth, crypto fascist, populist, swivel eyed jibberish she and her predecessor Priti Patel specialised in.

But I can’t help seeing this angle as an effective strategy. The whole white guilt angle thing is a total nightmare for the left. Something that’s only ever going to put off potential voters, rather than winning them over.

The left need to abandon ID politics, pronto.

Greatest right wing psy op in history

  10. In partisan speech AT A NEO-NAZI CONFERENCE. Jesus Christ the media is really hiding National Conservatisms true colours, aren’t they?

  11. She is the Conservative Home Secretary. She went to Cambridge where she was President of the university’s Conservative Union and she took advantage of the Erasmus programme (which she doesn’t want anyone else’s kids to have access to) to study at the Sorbonne in Paris.

If anyone counts as one of the “elites” it’s very obviously her and her colleagues around the Cabinet table.

Though I’ll grant you, she’s not much of an expert.

  12. It’s amazing how Conservative-leaning politicians in several countries have all decided to rail against ‘experts and elites’.

I mean, just because every study and analysis of their policies and performance shows that their policies – both implemented and planned – are generally ineffective at best, and more often counterproductive….

And it helps rally the mouth-breathers who think “yeah, those damn elites paying me shit wages and exploiting me”, not – for some reason – realising that the tories have been in power for over a decade, kinda making them ‘the elites’…

  13. I hope when I go to the docs he refers me to an expert if there’s a problem.
I would hate for Dave the Wetherspoons “character “ to diagnose me.

  14. The fact that our own PM is backing her on this (you know, the unelected PM who lost to the woman who lost to a lettuce, who has more money than the King) and refuses to condem her is fucking terrifying. The fact that members of the general public believe them is even more terrifying

  15. Her own party is stuffed full of the elite though. I am white and university educated, however I am also from a working class background and have no connections to anyone in any influential position. Someone like Braverman is much closer to the elite that she claims to hate than I am, something her supporters will inevitably fail to realise. The public need to wake up and realise that the privately educated Oxbridge alumni that make up most of the government are very much the elite and do not care about us, no matter how good some people think they would be to get a pint with.

  16. Wants to pick and choose her culture wars. OK against the left but not against her own side?

Also a Cambridge and Sorbonne graduate decrying Elites and experts? Does she think we’re buttoned up the back?

  17. She’s like an Aardman Animations character, brought to life and voiced by Katie Hopkins from a script written by some illiterate neo-fascist halfwit schoolboy.

  18. Anti-intellectualism is a tool used by Totalitarians.

At what point do we start to apply Popper’s Paradox and start to fight back against intolerance?

  19. Did she just warn against US-Culture wars while echoing US-Culture wars? What’s next, a ban on critical race theory in primary and a fucking book burning?

  20. Honest to god, she scares the fuck out of me more than Patel did, and that’s not easy. My OH says it’s Modi-style politics. I’m not sure if it’s that or what it is, but I know it’s horrible.

  21. Tories/Brexiters *hate* people with brains who know what they’re talking about,. They get in the way of all the lying, scapegoating, and theft.

  22. I do not understand how any sane person can vote for these imbeciles. Worshipping an unqualified leader purely because of nepotism and then rally against people who are qualified.
