  1. To think about the evolution of belgian firearms.

Leopold I was in the era of muskets. Ball cap and powder.

the one who do not talk about because he is not worth mentioning would fire a black powder comblain single shot.or albini with large calibres of 11x50mmR

Albert I and Leopold III a Belgian mauser model 1889. 5 round magazine. Bolt action. Smokeless powder

Baudouin the SAFN or FAL. The era of semi auto and full automatic.

Albert II is from the same era.

Philippe fired the FNC i can remember a photo. The assault rifle era with small calibres and 30 round magazines.

And now we have Princess Elizabeth. Shouldering FN’s SCAR L.

All of this in 200 years.

  2. Here to express my disdain for royal propaganda. These pictures are meaningless. In case of war, she won’t be the one shooting at enemy lines.

  3. Bolt is in a backward position in the first picture, which it should never be with a magazine attached to the rifle.

  4. Like she’ll ever defend her country lol, that’s a job for us worthless plebs. Why do they keep posting these stupid cosplay pics to the sub?

  5. The king or queen is the supreme commander of our army, so it makes sense that she learns how to shoot. Of course she’ll never have to actually use that rife in action, but I don’t think you can be respected as a commander if you know nothing about being a soldier.

  6. If we dont have money for teachers and nurses, to hell with them!

As long as we have enough for weapons and royal families, we are fine…

  7. Technically not “crown princess” of Belgium, but rather “Duchess of Brabant (i.e. hereditary princess of the Belgians)”, given that :
    – the King (and after him the Queen to be) officially reigns over a people (“The Belgians”) and not a territory. His official title is “King of the Belgians” and not “King of Belgium”.
    – the Crown is a symbol of a monarch reigning over a territory, hence the King of the Belgians doesn’t wear a crown. Thus, “Crown princess” makes little sense.

    – “Crown princess” or even “hereditary princess” is a generic title that gives way to any more substantive title associated to the same position (such as Duchess of Brabant for Belgium or Prince of Wales for the UK)

    – In Belgium, a royal decree of 1840 confers the title of Duke (or Duchess since 1991) of Brabant to the apparent heir to the throne, hence that title should be used instead.

That being said, using Duchess of Brabant by itself wouldn’t reach the same point to anybody not knowing what it means, so we’re cool.

  8. Eating up that tax money to spend some days frolicking in a gun range to produce more propaganda to make gullible idiots justify their “god given” existence

  9. Would be nice if war would be waged by the royals of the world. Beef with another country? Drop your highly trained royals on a battle royale island and whoever survives wins the dispute.

  10. You may like or dislike the royal family, but you cannot deny Elizabeth is very driven. She didn’t choose this life, but she clearly tries to carry out her role in a meaningful way, to the best of her abilities.

Am I in favour of a royal family? Not really, they’re redundant. But I do respect Elizabeth. I’m around the same age and I couldn’t imagine doing all of this.

  11. Over 300 comments, mostly from neckbeards, armchairing the future queen – a girl like any other enduring a life/photo op she didn’t ask for – on the most pedantic shit known to man. Insufferable I tell ya.

  12. I was there at Elsenborn when she started her basic 🙂

I had an FNC tho because of what I was going to do there, but it was interesting to be standing with a friend some 6 meters away from her as her platoon marched past 😛
