1. If he thought about it for a second he would’ve had to ask why they bothered booking out hotels and reopening mothballed public buildings. They could’ve declared the country at capacity long ago for the same effect.

2. No they were encouraging people to come here a year ago, and there were comments then saying we probably dont have anywhere to put them.

   Short sightedness and play it by ear governance. Whats new?

3. People say the govement is incompetent and in the same breath they think the goverment are capable of large complex conspiracies.

6. If only there would be contingency planning or something like that…. Or is that too advanced?

7. Never ascribe to malice what can be easily explained by incompetence. However to blame others for their own incompetence is malice, like the Irish times are playing the victim for not fact checking.

8. It’s a terrible take. The real outrage is that the government has instituted an apartheid system of International Protection. Ukrainians get modular housing while ”asylum seekers” get tents and left to the tender mercies of the far right street hooligans.
