This is outrageous. It can not be allowed that each year we lower more and more the quality of our education. This is not quality progress.
edit: IMHO Belgium should invest more in education and health rather than in military, it doesn´t matter all its hyper complicated internal politics. But maybe this thought is too simple for Belgian system, so it is my fault.
This news is another evidence of how things are going south (like a few days ago about the lack of healthcare personnel).

Volgens mij is het nog goedkoper om kinderen in megastallen op te vangen. Of in veewagens naar het oosten sturen. Neoliberalen vinden altijd wel een eindoplossing voor dit soort problemen.
Outrageous indeed. I keep shocking everyone on reddit when i tell them it’s 1 adult per 9 infants in belgian daycares. Other countries have 2 to 3 infants per adult. Older ages are even worse.
It’s already a thankless job with many openings that don’t get filled. This will lead to more burn outs, leading to more openings that don’t get filled leading to more burn outs…
As if it wasn’t already a pain in the ass. For example, you get reprimanded sternly when the toys aren’t in open furniture (meaning, not behind doors), because for some dumb reason they have to be visible for the kids.
Ik herinner me nog geen 20 jaar geleden als sportinstructeur dat we de groepjes rond de 8 a maximum 10 wouden maken om het kwalitatief te houden. Dan 5 jaar later waren het groepjes van 14 en werd dat als het absolute max, in uitschietende jaren waren er dan 16 mensen in een groep.
Idem voor effectief lesgeven in lager en middelbaar onderwijs. Nu zitten we daar makkelijk aan 25+. Dat komt echt de kwaliteit niet ten goede.
