So are we getting paid to wash our clothes?

  1. Yes but no. You will pay other fees for grid maintenance that dwarf 0.1 øre. Producers of electricity will have to pay that 0.1 øre for selling the electricity on the other hand.

  2. With the support money most of the grid fee will be cancelled. But you will not get paid for using unless the average price goes up even more to make the support larger.

  3. Have worked as programmer at NordPool. No, not a double/decimal issue. You get paid for using excess electriciry, as it can’t be stored. Was very usual at night when the mix was dominated by coal and nuke.

Cost of grid access excl. ofc.

  4. You typically pay 40 øre at night and 50 during the day for “linjeleige”. The fee the owner of the grid charges. Your electricity consumption towards your strømselskap will be accounted for seperately.

There is also a fixed fee every month. Your consumption is more important than those peak charges tho, as the bands are quite broad.

  5. The Netherlands has this as an almost weekly occurrence now! It’s due to our unique circumstances of extreme wind & sun at the same time
