  1. We’ve come a long way thankfully.

Edit: The most interesting moment in that for me is the man saying that the Pope/Vatican’s voew on the film is enough for him to determine it is blasphemous.

  2. 1985 had seen the whole moving statues phenomena so its fair to say things were particularly grim in the mid 80s. Oh and the economy was a smoking ruin as well

  3. The guy at the 5 minute mark is hilarious.

He goes off on a rant about the movie being blasphemous, the pope, Rome … while everyone else chats to themselves and the voice over speaks over him.

    Classic RTE

  4. Strong Enoch vibes from that guy with the glasses at the end there, if say the pair of them could compare notes on the virginity front…

  5. You’d what people like the guy at 2:59 or the woman at 4:28 are up to today. Do they look back at this and cringe or are they just further entrenched in their beliefs?

  6. I’ve always loved this clip. The Auld Wan from Cork on about Mary holding back Jesus like he was some drunk lad at a bar going to flake a fella. Absolute fucking moron. Thankfully these clowns have nearly died out.

  7. “I know the pope has come out against it, and that’s enough for me” thank fuck these judgmental cunts’ influence has mostly evaporated.
