Guys I’m having a hard time following the narrative here. If Bakhmut was such an irrelevant town why did Ukraine defend it that hard? Specially taking into account that Ukraine suffered heavier casualties than russia did? I mean the russian army isn’t even fighting it is a group of convict contractors… Idk seems like this is an L for us this time.
How many Russians did it cost? And will it be worth it if the Ukrainians can take it back?
Considering they are being pushed back on the flanks, id hold off on calling it a victory. Ukraine may yet encircle the whole town

I think losing this city might be the best thing for Ukraine right now. I don’t think it was strategically important honestly and I don’t think that losing it is going to make Ukraine give up on fighting.
I’m not an expert on anything but it seemed like a tactically unfortunate fixation on that place. Maybe it was useful to kill a bunch of Russians 🤷♀️ That is a benefit that can’t go unheralded if you’re being invaded
