Your man goes into private ADHD clinics and rattles off classic ADHD symptoms. Does a convincing job, so gets diagnosed. Even by itself, not really news. There is no ADHD brain scan or blood test to confirm it.
The worse thing, however, is that in order to compare private clinics to the NHS, he informs an NHS doctor he is a journalist, informs him of the particular story he’s working on, *before* going in for another bogey assessment. Of fucking course the NHS doc didn’t diagnose him, he already knew he was bullshitting.
Just so people are aware, this is shocking journalism. The journalist disclosed to the NHS doctor that he was a journalist but did not tell the ADHD clinics. He deliberately chose the terms that would get him an ADHD diagnosis. He also talks shit about “powerful drugs” when the the drug he was actually prescribed was at a low titration dosage and is not a stimulant.

Believe there was a similar program about autism diagnosis and fake psychologists in Ireland a while ago.
