Im happy to pick. If you improve the conditions and wages. Sadly, I see it going to be automated before that happens.
No problem
Ministers at the front of the queue for this physically demanding and low paid task, I take it?
If not, then f**k off.
If food prices increase, and then later on the labour issue is sorted one way or another, there is no chance the food prices will drop again, even if production costs do. We’ll just get used to the new normal and supermarkets will pocket the difference. Cost of living gets another permanent uptick.
The real issue is wage stagnation though.
Guess no one told them the food prices have already been going up every month!. My shopping bill is about 70% more than it was 2 years ago, keep going and I guess we’ll be told “if you don’t like it grow your own food”. Evil bastards
I don’t like the guy in the article who says that migrant workers will “inevitably” be treated badly. It doesn’t have to be inevitable. Maybe if the conditions were less horrible then more local people would be willing or able to do these jobs, but even if they are all filled by migrant workers that’s no excuse to treat them poorly.
>Food prices in the UK are lower, ministers point out, than across Europe, with British consumers spending less of their income on groceries than other Europeans.
=We want a bigger share of the pie!
Either we need to grow the pie or reduce other sectors share of the pie, they can’t all take more of our pie.
The famously ‘right wing’ Tory party everyone.
These Blairites are evil or stupid or both.
Tory ministers want more immigration. Imagine my shock.
Braverman and all of the politicians who pretend to be against immigration are frauds.
