Well the tax is progressive so as wages rise (or if they rise), more people move into the brackets.
I am already well within it, I would prefer to see the tax free threshold at the bottom raised rather than any of the others.
Suppose there is an argument to link the thresholds to inflation..
Fiscal creep and envy taxes… everyone loves them until they hit them..

Soo.. what is the problem actually, is the threshold too low or what?
I would mind if half of them would be higher rate taxpayers, if half of earners would earn 50 k and above.
